Gustavo Castro Ribeiro
Visiting Research Fellow
Gustavo Castro Ribeiro is a Visiting Research Fellow at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies (OIES), where his work centers on Energy Transition Research, specifically focusing on the decarbonization of the Oil and Gas downstream sector. He is a Petroleum Engineer and a Ph.D. candidate in Energy Analysis and Planning (University of São Paulo). His research experience includes periods in the Energy Policies and Economics Program (FAPESP Shell Research Centre for Greenhouse Gas Innovation) and the Petroleum Economics and Management Program (IFP School), as well as a Research Fellow at Brazilian federal government agencies CNPq and CAPES. In addition to his research pursuits, he actively engages in professional consultancy projects within the energy market, specializing in areas such as natural gas, decarbonization, and ESG. His interests span technology, economics, and policy for fossil and renewable energy sources, with a particular emphasis on offshore operations and GHG mitigation.
