Head of Gas Research

The Oxford Institute for Energy Studies (OIES) seeks to appoint a Head of Gas Research to take over leadership of its established Gas Research Programme. The post requires a strong background in commercial, regulatory, and economic issues related to gaseous fuels and the role of gas in the energy transition. Specific knowledge of gaseous fuels and renewable gas value chains and prior experience of the international energy business scene is essential.  Candidates should be able to demonstrate an excellent track record of managing research, with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Applicants will have completed a postgraduate degree (in economics or a related discipline) or have equivalent experience. Quantitative skills will be an advantage.

The Oxford Institute for Energy Studies (OIES) seeks to appoint a Head of Hydrogen Research to take over leadership of its rapidly expanding research into low carbon and renewable hydrogen. The post requires a strong background in commercial, regulatory, and economic issues related to hydrogen and the role of hydrogen in the energy transition. Specific knowledge of hydrogen and renewable gas value chains is essential and prior experience of the international energy business scene is beneficial.  Candidates should be able to demonstrate an excellent track record of managing a research programme in commercial and economic aspects of the energy industry, with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Applicants will have completed a postgraduate degree (in economics or a related discipline) or have equivalent experience. Quantitative skills will be an advantage.
