Paul Segal
Senior Visiting Research Fellow

Paul Segal has been at OIES since 2006. He is now a Lecturer in Economics at the University of Sussex and remains a Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the Institute. His research here focuses on the economics of resource-rich countries, and the macroeconomics of oil prices. He works specifically on the expenditure of resource revenues, and their impact on growth, economic development and the distribution of income. Paul also writes Asinus Muses for the Oxford Energy Forum. He completed his DPhil in Economics at Nuffield College, Oxford, in 2006, having previously been a consultant economist at the United Nations Development Programme in New York and a Research Fellow at Harvard University.
