Anil K Jain

Anil K Jain is a member of the Indian Administrative Service, the federal civil service of India. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree with Honours in Economics and MBA with specialisation in Marketing. He further underwent a one year Diploma program from the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade.

He has over two decades of administrative experience both at the field and policy formulation levels. He has worked at senior positions in the Ministries of Agriculture, Mining, Revenue and Petroleum & Natural Gas in India.

During the years 2003-08, as Director and Joint Secretary in the Ministry Of Petroleum and Natural Gas of the Government of India, he piloted the Exploration and International Cooperation activities. He was also on the Boards of the upstream NOCs and Management Committees of the private JVs.

He has participated in a number of International conferences on the subject and in policy dialogues with hydrocarbons rich countries. He has been closely associated with the development of natural gas sector in India, (including award of acreages, development of discoveries, pricing and distribution ) and its deregulation.
